What I'm Doing
Admissions Ambassador
I promote Furman by leading tour groups of 5-75 prospective students, parents, and high school counselors twice a week. I've done this since my freshmen year, and I absolutely love giving tours and getting to meet new people that can potentially join the Furman family!
Furman Panhellenic
I serve as VP-Communications and am in charge of all social media and taking minutes that are sent to the National Panhellenic Council. I work closely with VP-Public Relations to promote Greek events on Furman's campus.
Student Alumni Council
I am Secretary, so I communicate internally with SAC, which plans Homecoming and other events for alums.
Kappa Delta Sorority
I am Philanthropy Video Chair for 2015, as well as Webmaster which includes maintenance of my chapter's website and Facebook group.

I organized all events for 100 active members and 300 potential new members for Recruitment 2014. My duties included from event planning, budgeting, collaborating with National Kappa Delta and Furman Panhellenic, and created a 6- minute philanthropy video using Adobe Premiere Pro.
This was the most challenging job I've ever had--I wore many hats and grew so much as a leader and person during my time in this office!
Intern, Bulldog Finance Group (Washington, DC)

Bulldog is a campaign fundraising firm--while there, I researched prospective donors and used phone, email, and social media to ensure donor retention. I created event invitiations and publicized fundraisers for clients.
I loved going behind-the-scenes to see how campaigns are funded--I did a research project on the difference in fundraising due to gender the semester before, so it was great to see my results hands-on (find my paper here).

I assisted Beth Ferguson, Regional Director of Communicaitons, by building media lists for press releases and updating media outlets.
My most interesting days during this summer were when tragedies occurred. On these days, I would receive a call early telling me to go to the makeshift shelter from a flood/tornado/etc. Then, I would coordinate media outlets and press releases to get word out to families, friends, and victims about what was happening.
